Thanks Rotten City Pizza!

Art critic Daniel Rolnik [FecalFace, Hi Fructose, Beautiful/Decay, etc…] partnered with THE COMPOUND GALLERY and EX’PRESSION COLLEGE  and threw a secret artist pizza social at The Compound Gallery! Around 60-80 artists, journalists, and collectors showed up to the invite-only event on SUNDAY, JULY 8th.  Tastylicious Pizza was generously provided by our awesome neighbors at Rotten City Pizza and libations were provided by the tasty local Berkeley brew and art supporters at Trumer Pils.

Check out the post on FecalFace for more photos!

We are fortunate to be surrounded by amazing, supportive, creative people! If you are interested in Animation & Visual Effects, Digital Filmmaking, Game Art & Design, Interactive Audio, or Interaction Design or Motion Graphic Design..you must check out our neighbors at Ex’pression College! It’s like a playground for digital media! Thanks Ex’pression for your genuine interest in supporting the arts! And thanks to the most adorable art critic in L.A., Daniel Rolnik, for dreaming up this idea of an artist pizza social and bringing it to the Bay Area (they usually take place in L.A.).

It was wonderful to hold an event where artists could meet/greet/connect with other artists and inspiring people. We raffled off some awesome shirts and hoodies from Rotten City Pizza, some prints, and some Art in a Box T’s, and had a “print your own” commemorative pizza social poster station going on at the Vandercook letterpress. The event was FREE for the artists, special thanks to Ex’pression, Rotten City, and Trumer Pils!

Perhaps there will be another one in the future and we can invite even more artists! Good times were had by all..
